In 2023, a library is established in the former house of the Feuerlöscher family in Prenning. Its starting point is the social and intellectual history of the “Prenninger Kreis” (Prenninger Circle) and its reception. Members of this group, including Herbert Eichholzer, Anna Feuerlöscher, Kurt Neumann, Anna-Lülja Praun, and Ernst Fischer, found a retreat in the Feuerlöscher house in the 1930s and actively resisted the emerging totalitarian tendencies of the time—namely Austrofascism and Nazism. The modular library with its growing collection, conceived with the involvement of artists, scientists, and architects, forms a foundation of the constantly renewed memory of resistance at the historical site. It invites visitors to bring to mind and engage with the concepts and artistic practices associated with it.
