This workshop is an invitation to literally let yourself fall into a song. Performance artist Lulu Obermayer’s work explores the materiality of the voice, the figure of repetition, and stagings of gender in opera and theater. She always works with existing scores and libretti, reinterpreting them from a feminist perspective. The artist puts herself in relation to them, always dying new stage deaths and celebrating resurrections. In the workshop, she explores in-between states as well as singing as a practice of aliveness, turning away from the world and presence.
