Renowned philosophers Peter Sloterdijk and Slavoj Žižek have been in dialogue for more than two decades, often representing diametrically opposed political positions. They continue their ongoing conversation in Ljubljana to talk about troubled times in an increasingly fractured Europe.

Peter Sloterdijk is a philosopher and writer. Until 2017, he was the president of the University of Arts and Design Karlsruhe. Sloterdijk has published countless books, including Critique of Cynical Reason (University of Minnesota Press, 1988), the trilogy Spheres (Semiotext(e), 2011, 2014, and 2016), and Rage and Time (Columbia University Press, 2010). For his work, he has received, among others, the Sigmund Freud Prize, the Ludwig Börne Prize, and the European Prize for Political Culture.

Slavoj Žižek is a philosopher and cultural theorist. He is international director of the Birkbeck Institute for the Humanities at the University of London, visiting professor at New York University, and a senior researcher at the University of Ljubljana. His numerous books include The Sublime Object of Ideology (Verso, 1989), The Ticklish Subject (Verso, 1997), The Parallax View (MIT Press, 2006), Living in the End Times (2010, Verso), and Less Than Nothing (Verso, 2012).
