BHP’22 – UNTERWEGS
Auftraggeber:innen und Architekt:innen schaffen Baukultur

(BHP’22UNDERWAY: Clients and Architects Create Building Culture)

Exhibition

The Bauherr:innenpreis was awarded for the first time in 1967 by the Zentralvereinigung der Architekt:innen and is unique in rewarding the courage and creativity of clients rather than architects and designers. The award spotlights these qualities in architecture, open space design, and urban planning. An indispensable contribution to building culture in Austria is visible in the eighteen projects nominated for and awarded the prize in 2022. Three of them come from Styria; in the past ten years, there have been twenty-five.

The BHPʼ22 also reflects the current sociopolitical discourse: many submissions are about building in existing structures. Especially in planning and building, it is important to use existing resources. Renovation and adaptation offer space for creative solutions.
